Born and bred in Tasmanian, Zoe has been living and working in Sydney for the past 6 years so she had some awesome recommendations when it comes to her favourite health and fitness spots.
Do you have a morning routine?
During the week I generally have two morning routines. If I’m coaching then I will be up at 3.50am, I’ll get dressed as quietly as possible to avoid waking up my boyfriend and then I will make myself a coffee with our Nespresso Machine – best money I have spent in a long time. Then I’ll have something small to eat to make sure I have the energy to deliver a class that all our amazing members deserve. If I’m not coaching, then I will be up a bit later in the morning – usually around 5am then I head to Orangetheory to do a class to kick off my day. In an ideal world I would train every morning before work, I LOVE starting my day with a sweaty workout!
Do you have any health philosophies that you live by?
This sounds cliché, but I am such a believer in living a balanced lifestyle. Life is about having fun and experiencing new things, do things that you LOVE and that make your heart happy! If that means indulging in a naughty treat every now and then, then do it!
This was a tough one, as I basically love all food… I’m going to have to go with homemade burritos! Taco Tuesday for the win!
Do you have a hack to help you with stress?
I LOVE listening to podcasts and going for walks to de-stress. The best part is you can do both at the same time. It helps me switch off and there are so many amazing podcasts out there that give me inspiration and motivation – especially if I am feeling stressed from work or life in general.
What are your top health spots near home?
I live in Surry Hills and there is an amazing café called Little Evie on Bourke St, it is 100% the best breakfast I have had and the meals are HUGE! My favourite dinner spot would have to be a restaurant called Oriental Healthy on Cleveland St – I highly recommend!! If I want to save some money and get a cheap and easy lunch then About Life is my go-to for their huge variety of healthy, fresh options.
The last book you read?
I haven’t finished it yet, but I am currently into The Barefoot Investor. I will openly admit I am not the greatest with saving my hard earned money so I am excited to finish it and start saving some cash money.
How do you unwind?
After a long day of work, I just love chilling at home with my boyfriend and my cat (she is the cutest). It’s good to get home, have a nice meal and then chill in bed and watch some Netflix before getting an early night ready for the next day. If I’m in bed by 8.30pm during the week I am one happy lady!
About Zoe Brown
Born and bred Tasmanian chick (and 100% proud of it) who has been living in Sydney coming on 6 years. Health and fitness is a lifelong passion for me and I’m so fortunate to work in this industry that has the power to change lives for the better, or even save lives. I am a massive go getter and while I have been known to complain about having so much on my plate, I wouldn’t have it any other way. When I’m not coaching, I’m spending time with my boyfriend, seeing family and friends, going for walks, going out for food, or looking in homewares stores (I actually do this quite regularly!)
